Giller's link to Euro mission proves to be fool's gold

YOU have to be up early on Sunday to catch 'Now, That's What I Call Sport' on Dublin's 98fm.

Last Sunday Dubs fan Stephen Doyle was doing his usual review of the sports pages when he came up with a world exclusive!

'Pat Gilroy to help Ireland at the Euro 2012 finals,' screamed the headline. The story stated that Trap was a big fan of the Giller, and that agreement had been reached between the FAI and the Dublin Board.

Trap liked the way Pat had talked about the work ethic of Barcelona and defending from the front. Pat was going to fly over to the Irish camp to give Robbie Keane and co a few pep talks.

There was even a quote from 'Andy Boyle' of the Dublin County Board, stating: "We try to help all Irish teams, just like we have done with the Irish rugby side and Bryan Cullen."

It was, of course, April the 1st.

RYAN O'DWYER has put the snap, crackle and pop into the Kellogg's GAA Cul Camps.

Ryan is a natural in front of the cameras. He's a model for the Sunday game when he puts the hurl away.

This summer, he'll be an ambassador for the camps. It's a wise choice. Ryan can always see the bigger picture.

Ryan insists that coaching is not just about the skills of the game, but about the person. The key thing is to give the child confidence for life.

Ryan recalled heroes from his own childhood that, with the right encouragement, gave him the bowl of belief. They did a Tipp-top job, as can be seen on and off the field.

KEN HOGAN and Tom Dempsey were on the liveline on 'Sunday Sport'.

Both are fans of the work that has been going on in Dublin hurling.

"No team in Ireland can match the pool of talent that Dublin have produced in the last three years," said Tom.

And Ken added: "In the National League this season, Dublin have been the unluckiest team in the country."
