Gaybo leads way for stars in The Price debut
THE red carpet was rolled out last night for the
opening night of The Price at The Gate Theatre - and uncle Gaybo led the way.
The 1968 Arthur Miller production focuses on the Franz brothers, who have ceased to communicate since Victor, a policeman, sacrificed his college education to nurse their ailing father while Walter abandoned ship and went on to become a wealthy surgeon.
The current adaptation stars Barry McGovern, Trainspotting actress
Fiona Bell and Denis
Conway and is being
directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes.
RTE veteran Gay (79) attended the premiere with his wife Kathleen and told the Herald he's a keen fan of the late playwright.
"I've never seen this play or know anything about it, but I'm a Miller fan and have been for years," he said.
