Cannabis herb, cocaine, ecstasy and prescription drugs were all recovered in yesteday's operation, carried out by officers from the Ballymun District Drug Unit.

Further searches of premises were carried out in the Finglas and Blanchardstown areas where a substantial amount of cash was recovered.

Two men, aged 39 and 33, were arrested and were last night being detained at Ballymun Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

"These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks," a spokesperson said.

"Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs."
