Father and son injured in morning gun attack

A MAN was shot and his son injured in a gun attack in Sandyford today.

The shooting took place in a residential area of the south Dublin suburb at around 8am.

Gardai received a 999 call to say that a man had been injured in a shooting in the Aiken's Village area this morning.

Gardai are now at the scene and are conducting investigations.

The victim is believed to be an Eastern European man who was shot as he sat in his car with his son.

Both suffered injuries after they were struck by shotgun pellets but they are not believed to be lifethreatening.

The victim is believed to have been targeted as the result of a personal row.

Ambulances

There were several garda cars and ambulances at the scene at 8.30am today.

Aiken's Village is an exclusive development and is located near the Sandyford, Dundrum and Stepaside areas.
