EU switch on 'spying'
THE EU has backed down from threats to suspend agreements granting the US access to European data, rejecting calls for a tougher stance over alleged US spying.
The move marks an abrupt about-turn for the European Commission. In July, it issued warnings to US officials following revelations Washington had spied on European citizens.
