Model Vogue Williams and her ex-Westlife singer husband Brian McFadden have split after less than three years of marriage.
Williams (29), who wed the former popstar in a lavish Italian ceremony in 2012 after a whirlwind romance, made the announcement last night on her Twitter page.
While the couple have decided to part ways, Howth native Vogue said they were still friends.
“It is with sadness that Brian and I have made the tough decision to go our separate ways. We will always care greatly about each other, remain friends and wish each other all the very best for the future,” she wrote, accompanied by an image of a broken heart.
“We have nothing else to say on the subject and we would like to thank our friends and family for their support during this difficult period.”
Singer-turned-presenter Brian (35) shared the same message to followers on his Twitter account.
Brian previously described Vogue as his “soulmate” and has their wedding date tattooed on his wrist.
Six weeks ago, the Dubliner shared the last picture of the couple together on his Instagram account, enjoying lunch with his two daughters – Molly and Lily-Sue – by Kerry Katona.
The northside couple are based in the UK, but recently purchased a home in Dublin.
“I’ve literally just got the keys and we’re very excited,” Vogue said at the time. “We needed a base here so it’s a big day.”
In her column for the Sunday World last weekend, Vogue revealed she and Brian had never signed a prenuptial agreement.
“Brian and I don’t have a pre-nup it just wasn’t something that we wanted,” she said, saying that “we don’t share money either”.
“It’s not like we are adamant of splitting everything 50/50, I just like having my own money as he does his.”
