SHE has been flexing her muscles as an entrepreneur, but presenter Laura Woods is still in demand at TV3.

The mother of two is operating on a freelance basis and regularly fills in for the likes of Anna Daly on Ireland AM.

Although there is no sign of a contract, the 36-year-old has several stints coming up at Ballymount and is looking forward to a busy summer.

She will juggle the early mornings filling in for Mark Cagney in addition to working full-time with Corporate Profiles, which she set up with Brian Ormond in 2012, and being a mum.

"Things are busy with the business and I still get to keep in touch with everyone in TV3, It's lovely," she said.

CONTROL

Laura previously worked for 11 years at RTE, and while she admitted she goes "wherever the work is", she is not looking to make a return to the national broadcaster any time soon.

Even though she is no longer pursuing TV full-time, Laura said that having her own business keeps things "ticking over".

"We've mostly worked for other people, so it's nice to take control of your own timetable and orchestrate meetings that suit us," she said.

Laura and her Spanish husband Mark Arigho celebrated the first birthday of their second child, son Alex, at their home yesterday. They also have a two-year-old son, Ben.
