TV3 left red-faced again after power cut stops Ireland AM

It was a case of 'No Lights, no camera, and no action' at TV3 yesterday as a massive power cut meant the station's live coverage was halted for the second time in less than a week.
The outage forced the station's popular morning show Ireland AM off air for over an hour.
The weekday programme, which is presented by Sinead Desmond, Mark Cagney and Alan Hughes, was first interrupted at 8am, resulting in the show failing to go live again until after 9.30am.
With an average of over 50,000 tuning into the show each morning, a large number of viewers expressed their disappointment at the technical glitch on social media.
Last Friday, the channel's afternoon panel show Midday was prevented from being broadcast due to an issue with cameras.

TV3 spokeswoman Sharon McHugh explained that while the timing of yesterday's power cut was unfortunate, the two incidents were completely unrelated, adding "these things happen".
"There was a major power outage in the Ballymount area that hit a number of businesses.
"It affected our transmission this morning," she told the Herald.
"They are completely different things entirely, the one on Friday was a camera failure.

"Midday is recorded live and the camera failed literally just as we were about to go on air.
"We were back up and running today no problem, but it's just coincidental that the incidents were within a couple of days of each other.
"I believe the power was down for about an hour in total. These things happen," she added.
