Stylist Darren bags a coveted slot on This Morning sofa

DUBLIN TV presenter Darren Kennedy has landed a plum role on ITV's This Morning alongside Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

Dubbed Ireland's answer to Gok Wan, the Santry native (31) has become a familiar face on our screens over the past number of years as one of the country's leading stylists, as well as guest-hosting various gigs on RTE and TG4.

But he has ditched the capital to carve out a career in the UK and landed a coveted slot on the ITV show, fronting their Web Watch segment, in which he informs viewers about the latest virals and websites on the internet.

The gig started in January and he is signed up to appear regularly on the hit ITV show, which has massive audience figures as one of Britain's best-known daytime shows.

And the Dubliner shows he is more than able to carry his weight on the popular programme, holding his own against former Xtra Factor host Holly and legendary broadcaster Phillip.

As our picture shows, the duo look more than comfortable in front of the camera with the latest addition to their team, whose star is continuing to rise.

And he revealed how the beautiful blonde mum was just as nice in person as she appeared on screen after his encounter with her and co-presenter Phillip.

"Holly was absolutely lovely, so nice to me, and I had a great time doing the show. There are certain people you meet and you instantly get a warm, welcoming vibe off them and that's the way she is, as is Phillip," he explained.

"They're really nice and each item or guest they have on gets their full attention. This is the second time I've been on the show and it's all about the latest things happening online. Both Holly and Phillip are big into Twitter, so I did a feature on Tweet Rings, where you can have your favourite message engraved on a ring."

A graduate of Central Saint Martins, he's also the founder of fashion website Helpmystyle.ie, which gets up to 60,000 hits every month and has even attracted attention from Perez Hilton.
