TRUE DETECTIVE

SKY ATLANTIC, 9.00PM

If you watched True Detective last week, you won't need any incentive to tune in tonight - such was the shocking ending of the second episode of the series. This week, as well as dealing with the fallout from the shooting, our anti-hero cops get closer to Caspare's murderer.
Crime drama, starring Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Vince Vaughn and Taylor Kitsch

THE AMERICANS

RTE2, 9pm

New series. The return of the drama about two Soviet spies living undercover in suburban Washington, DC, during the 1980s. Tensions simmer between the Jenningses as they disagree over handling orders from the Centre and Philip enlists Annelise for a mission when Elizabeth loses key intelligence. Stan tries a new approach to mending his marriage with Sandra. Starring Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell.

VICIOUS

UTV/ITV, 9.00pm

Freddie and Stuart prepare for their big day, but things run far from smoothly with the appearance of an unexpected guest at the wedding, and it’s not long before the blissful event becomes a potential disaster. Violet announces that her husband Jasper has returned and warns Ash not to flirt with her in front of him as he is insanely jealous, while Penelope and Mason hit a series of snags when they are sent to collect the wedding cake.

MAN DOWN

Channel 4, 10.00pm

Jo announces that she is marrying a digger-driving rapper from ‘pagan backwater’ the Heath, and Dan realises this means that for once he might not be the biggest loser at a social gathering.

Never one to miss an opportunity to impress headmistress Miss Lipsey, Dan decides to use his best man’s speech to show off his sensitive side, but before that happens he has to contend with bizarre local traditions, an owl attack and an increasingly exasperated Brian. Last in the series, sadly, of the sitcom written by and starring Greg Davies as the one-man walking disaster
