OPERATION Transformation star Marc Gibbs has made the leap from the scales to the catwalk.

The Dublin native, who now lives in Kildare, has been snapped up by talent agency Morgan, after shedding more than two stone during his seven week transformation.

The 44-year-old, who currently works as a security guard, has signed up to the same agency as his son, model Marcus Gibbs.

Marc, who has reduced his weight from 17 stone to 14 stone 10lbs in less than two months, said that the show has given him renewed confidence and he would love to pursue some acting roles.

"I went in the other day for a photoshoot. I enjoyed it and my profile is going live on the site," Marc told the Herald.

Despite being delighted with his overall results, Marc hit out at the show for concentrating on negative moments during his time on Operation Transformation.

"I think they have to praise people for weight loss, no matter what it is," he said.

"I think they need to focus more on the positivity of a person losing weight rather than saying 'you didn't lose your target' and turning it into a negative thing."

The next step for Marc is to take part in the LauraLynn half-marathon in April and he is being sponsored for the event by tailor Louis Copeland.

An average of 522,000 viewers tuned into the seventh series of Operation Transformation, hosted by Kathryn Thomas, and the six leaders have lost more than 13 stone between them.
