ACTOR Simon Delaney and MasterChef star Nick Munier are on a mission to take the comedy world by storm.

The good friends have penned a French film about two chefs on the run.

The slapstic k comedy, Nothing But The Best, features everything from gambling addicts to scary gangsters.

Nick said that he and Simon had a fantastic time coming up with the script.

"We've written a French caper about two brothers who have a restaurant in London," he told the Herald. "One has a gambling debt so they end up on the run from gangsters.

"It was something really fun that came out of an idea that we had, so we'll see what happens. Simon is a good friend of mine, so I love getting together with him."

When he is not busy looking after his restaurant and his three sons, the MasterChef star, who has split from his wife Denise McBrien for a second time, has been reigniting his passion for abstract art.

"I am remaining positive and I try to paint at least three times a week," Nick told the Herald.

With the third series of MasterChef kicking off on RTE1 on Tuesday, Nick and co-host Dylan McGrath said this year had the most talented contestants yet.

Meanwhile, actor Simon this week finished filming on his latest movie, Dublin-based production Spider's Trap.
