Radio will help Nicky to be better on TV – Aidan

DUBLIN presenter Aidan Power has given his friend and co-host Nicky Byrne's new radio show the seal of approval and believes it will make him a better presenter.

Aidan, who co-presented with Nicky during his debut TV hosting experience on the talent show Hit last summer, said that he might even have to look to his friend for tips.

"He will be running the show and I will be following his lead in the future," Aidan joked.

Nicky was unveiled as the new voice of mid-morning radio on 2fm earlier this year and is now several weeks into his show alongside experienced DJ Jenny Greene.

And former children's presenter Aidan (35) said that radio is a great training ground for honing your TV presenting skills.

"I am delighted for him," the presenter told the Herald.

CHEMISTRY

"Having been on air myself every day, you learn so much, so it will help him with his TV presenting. Radio is a great place to learn.

"I have heard bits of the Nicky Byrne Show and I think him and Jenny have great chemistry and it's a fun show."

Aidan and Nicky (35) have stayed friends since hosting the show won by Dublin singer Finbar Furey last year and they are confident that it will return for a second season.

"We haven't heard anything yet, I would have liked to by now, but I think we will probably find out in May," explained Aidan. "They haven't confirmed if it's going to come back so I am just working on other stuff."

The presenter, who works freelance with RTE, was busy during the Six Nations rugby campaign filming alongside model Daniella Moyles and is also working on other TV projects.
