Actor Aidan Turner has landed a role in a new BBC drama based on a book by iconic author Agatha Christie.
The Dublin native, who has seen his star rise recently after starring in hit show Poldark, will star in the first ever TV adaptation for classic novel And Then There Were None.
The show will be set in 1939 and will tell the story of 10 strangers on a deserted island who have all been accused of a serious crime.
Turner (left), who previously starred in RTE drama The Clinic, will play money-obsessed soldier Philip Lombard in And Then There Were None, which will be his first TV role since Poldark.
According to the Guardian, the series is expected to be broadcast this Christmas and will also feature screen stars Charles Dance, Sam Neill, Miranda Richardson, Anna Maxwell Martin and Toby Stephens.
The adaptation is part of a deal between the BBC and the owners of the author's estate to celebrate some of Christie's works to mark what would be her 125th birthday this year.
