NICKY Byrne was dancing with delight after scraping through to the last eight of Strictly Come Dancing.
The former Westlife star and his partner Karen Hauer lived to dance another day after the judges decided they did enough to win the dance-off against television presenter Richard Arnold (42) and his partner Erin Boag.
It was a full house for Nicky (34) with all four judges last night choosing to save the Dublin singer.
The showbiz reporter had survived the dance-off on two previous occasions, but finally lost out after finishing joint last on Saturday's judges' scoreboard, alongside Olympic cyclist Victoria Pendleton.
But the public's votes put Nicky in the dance-off.
Judge Craig Revel Horwood said: "Just for sheer exuberance and energy, I am going to save Nicky and Karen."
Judge Bruno Tonioli said that, while both couples were highly entertaining, he had to go with Byrne and Hauer as a result of their "power and content".
Fellow judge Darcey Bussell was in agreement and said: "They both performed well tonight but I have to say it comes down to content and energy." Last week saw Nicky wow with a foxtrot as he earned his top score of the series so far.
The Dubliner took to Twitter to express his surprise and delight at surviving the nerve-wracking dance-off which will keep him in the show.
"That was not a nice feeling at all. The dance-off is horrendous. Heart still pounding!"
