Lineker's dance moves Strictly for crisp ad

Gary Lineker is worth his salt on the dancefloor as he gets tasty on his toes -- after being coached by Strictly's Bruno Tonioli.

In a new Walkers ad campaign, Match Of The Day host Lineker is transformed into a light-footed hoofer as he shows off his moves to The Weather Girls' hit It's Raining Men.

Strictly Come Dancing judge Tonioli trained the former football ace for a gruelling two-day shoot, which included sliding down a bannister and prancing over a potato cart.

As well as teaching him the moves, Tonioli provided words of encouragement.

In the ad, Lineker is seen dancing in the middle of a heavy downpour as the hit song plays. Makers of the ad changed the lyric to It's Raining Ten to tie in with a promotion which enables people to win £10 by predicting where and when it will rain.

The new tongue-in-cheek Walkers Rainy Days advert hits screens on October 1.

Lineker said: "I really enjoyed making the advert, despite the fact that I find dancing a bit tricky and it was made even harder by the fact that I was soaking wet the whole time.

"Working with Bruno was great -- he made me laugh a lot and was a fantastically patient teacher."

And Tonioli said his protege had performed well: "Gary claims he's got two left feet, but once I'd whipped him into shape, he let himself go and unleashed the dancer inside."

The Walkers Rainy Days promotion runs until November at walkers.co.uk and the ads begin screening from October 1.
