Kenny and Murray t o host their shows live from Poland

RTE is to send two of its flagship radio shows to Poland to broadcast during the middle of the Euro 2012 championships.

The national broadcaster is sparing no expense when it comes to its radio coverage of the tournament -- with presenters Pat Kenny (right) and John Murray (left) broadcasting their shows live from Poznan and Gdansk.

The Pat Kenny Show is set to be hosted from the city of Gdansk on June 14 -- just hours before Giovanni Trapattoni's men take on World Cup holders Spain.

RTE is to fly over a number of pundits for the broadcast, including Paul Lennon, Guillem Balague and John Brennan.

Kenny will also interview Polish prime minister Slawomir Nowak, and the programme will dedicate some time to World War II with an interview from Stuthof Concentration Camp -- the first Nazi concentration camp built outside German borders in 1937. Montrose Bosses have also opted to send another early morning chat show to Poland.

John Murray will broadcast his 9am programme from Poznan and will be accompanied by RTE Polish presenter Zbyszek Zalinski.

The pair are setting out from Dublin on June 5 and travelling by car through the UK and France towards Poland.

Neil Delamere will take the hotseat in the RTE studios with the duo sending live reports, the broadcaster said.

RTE bosses will be anxious to ensure the station dominates the TV coverage of the matches, with stiff opposition coming from ITV. The UK station has drafted in former Irish captain Roy Keane as a pundit -- and he will be going head-to-head with his rival Eamon Dunphy.
