X FACTOR star Janet Devlin has been left devastated seeing close pal Sami Brookes get booted off the show.
The 16-year-old is said to be gutted over last night's results show, which saw Sami (31) axed by her mentor Louis Walsh, following a diva style sing-off on the programme.
Janet -- who is one of the favourites on this year's hit series -- left the London-based studios upset after seeing "Mammy Sami" sent packing from the competition.
"I'm over the moon but on the flipside I'm devastated Sami's going home, when times were really hard she was there for me," the Omagh girl said of her good friend.
"I've invited her to Tyrone for New Year and she's coming over -- I can't wait for her to meet my friends and family, they're going to love her," the Irish songstress added.
Janet has reportedly become very close to the Welsh singer since meeting over the summer at Bootcamp and the shy teenager -- who admits to never being part of the "cool crowd" growing up -- will find it lonely when bubbly Sami leaves the contestants' house.
"We have a small group of friends, we kind of do our own thing," pal of the budding popstar, Megan Sweeney told the Herald.
"People wouldn't go out of their way to talk to Janet in school and she never had lots of friends.
"But she's made some really good friends in the X Factor."
Janet belted out a stunning rendition of Gun N' Roses track Sweet Child O' Mine on Saturday night's live show, and joins the 10 remaining hopefuls through to the next installment of the series.
Take That's Gary Barlow congratulated the redhead on her performance, dubbing it "simply beautiful and gorgeous" while Louis Walsh said it's all "about the voice" with the talented singer.
N-Dubz star Tulisa admitted she was unsure about Janet's rock cover -- which she thought was more of a ballad than a rock 'n' roll anthem.
But the Gortin schoolgirl still sailed through to the next round of the competition.
