PRESENTER and stylist Brendan Courtney has lined up his first fashion victim – international designer Jean Paul Gaultier.
The Dubliner will fly to the UK to grill the fashion icon for his new show, Profiler.
The interview will feature as part of his fashion programme for Anglo-Asian channel Propeller TV.
In another coup for the co-owner of design label Lennon Courtney, the 40-year-old will front a series of documentaries looking at the lives of inspirational people in the fashion and entertainment industry.
The interviews will air on Profiler alongside coverage of the big fashion weeks taking place in the UK.
The show will also air on Sky channels later this year.
"I have met Jean Paul a few times so I am going over to interview him on April 8," Courtney told the Herald.
"Propeller TV is a Chinese company based in London and there is a huge Chinese culture in the UK so there's a big market for it.
"Talks for my show started about a year ago and it's exciting – over 40 million watch the station, so that's crazy."
Courtney, who was at the helm of RTE's Off The Rails for five years alongside mother-of-two and business partner Sonya Lennon, will continue to divide his time between Dublin and London.
On top of his new TV show, he also enjoys a weekly feature on BBC London radio where he contributes to Gaby Roslin's show. Propeller TV has also commissioned another series with the presenter, a magazine show called The Cut, featuring make-up advice and several other beauty and gossip elements.
While his fashion line is now taking off in the UK, with collections in retail chain Harvey Nichols and Wolf & Badger in London's exclusive Notting Hill district, Courtney said his and Lennon's profile is still building.
"I am actually better known as a broadcaster than a designer in the UK, but I think that is starting to change," he said.
