SHE was devastated to be cut from the X Factor bootcamp -- but Irish schoolgirl Sophie Griffin (inset) says it has only made her more determined to win The Voice UK.
Sophie (17), from Ardboe, Co Tyrone, is being coached by Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am on the BBC series.
"The knockback was good for me," she told the Herald. "At the time it was gutting but it was the best thing to happen.
"It's made me so strong and it's made me really determined to make it," she said.
She wasn't aware there is an Irish version of The Voice, but says it was the distinguished judging panel on the BBC show, including Danny O'Donoghue, which attracted her to apply.
