Donal and Mario set to cook up a storm

ONE is a charismatic young chef thrilling food lovers around the country, the other a loudmouth comic impersonator.

But celebrity chef Donal Skehan and funnyman Mario Rosenstock could be a match made in food heaven.

The RTE sketch artist is expected to make an appearance on Donal's cooking tour after making waves with his impersonations of the young chef.

Dublin native Donal is touring the country with his live cooking show, Kitchen Hero: HomeCooked Tour, sponsored by retail giant Spar.

The 27-year-old performed live to food fans in the Helix on Saturday night and was a hit with Santry locals when he appeared in Spar, Shanowen Road, earlier that day.

"It hasn't been confirmed yet, but it looks like Mario will appear live with him when Donal's tour comes back to Dublin," a source said. "Kitchen Hero goes to Tallaght's Civic Theatre on Monday, November 25 and Mario's appearance is being lined up as a special surprise for fans."

Donal is one of the celebs lampooned by Mario, with others including Roy Keane and Miriam O'Callaghan.

"It's great for me because he makes me far cooler than I probably am," Donal told the Herald. "I read he picks his characters by the amount of viewing figures that they have on RTE. So it obviously shows that I am on his radar, which is great."
