The eldest son of Brendan Gleeson is following in his father's footsteps after landing a starring role in an RTE Christmas special.
Talented young actor Domhnall Gleeson has won a starring role in a one-off RTE comedy sketch show, Your Bad Self, set to air on St Stephen's day.
The Dublin-born actor has starred in Six Shooter, Boy Eats Girl and the Last Furlong, as well as doing a stint on New York Broadway show, The Lieutenant of Inishmore.
In 2006 he starred alongside his father in Paul Mercier's hit feature film Studs.
This year he gave an impressive performance in A Dog Year as well as Paddyville, which is in post-production.
The younger Gleeson graduated from DIT Aungier Street with a BA in Media Arts. He was subsequently drawn towards writing and directing for stage and film before he went down the acting route.
Domhnall will star alongside Michael McElhatton and Peter McDonald in Your Bad Self.
The content of the programme is being kept under wraps, but a source on set revealed it will appeal to those with a wicked sense of humour.
The show has been produced by Treasure Entertainment who made I Went Down and Mad About Dog.
It was written and directed by John Butler who co-wrote and directed George and Spacemen Three for the Irish Film Board.
