He's not an obvious successor to Westlife's Nicky Byrne. But David Gray stepped into the boyband singer's shoes over the weekend to take over 2FM's new Celebrity Sunday slot.
The crooner was out at Montrose playing some of his favourite songs for music fans after signing up for the new venture, which proved a huge success for Nicky.
David told the Diary how he was "delighted" to be given the opportunity to present his own show on Irish radio. "It's great to have free rein to choose and play tracks I like. I would love to do more of this sort of thing," he explained.
Well-known figures share their top tunes on the 2FM show, and David is set to appear again on March 28.
