HOLLYWOOD actor Chris O'Dowd will be snubbing this year's IFTAs in favour of treading the boards in Broadway.
The Bridesmaids star has been given the nod in the Best Lead Actor in TV category at the April 5 bash.
But forced to choose between Burlington Road and the bright lights of New York City, it was obviously a no-brainer for burly Chris.
Chris has been wowing critics for his part in the theatre version of Of Mice and Men, which began previewing on March 19.
He's been co-starring with James Franco and Leighton Meester as he proves he can make the transformation from the big-screen to theatre.
But while he's across the water in the States, his wife Dawn O'Porter will be in Dublin on the same evening of the IFTAs – but may not be going either. The author and TV personality will be taking part in a Banter session at the Twisted Pepper on Middle Abbey Street.
She's coming over here for a public interview session in the northside venue as she publicises her new book Goose.
