ACTRESS Nicole Kidman has denied that she offered Katie Holmes advice during the latter's split from Tom Cruise.
IT had been rumoured that Kidman - who was previously married to Cruise - had made secret phone calls to Katie (33) and counselled her during the couple's break-up earlier this year.
But in a revealing new interview Kidman dismissed the claims. "I never spoke to her. I wish all of them well, but I was not involved in any of that."
The 45-year-old Oscar-winning actress, who was married to Cruise from 1990 to 2001, described the period following her own divorce as "the loneliest, loneliest existence."
"When it didn't work out, I had to really dig deep and find my way through depression," Kidman said about the break-up with Cruise. "But I have no regrets about all of it. It was all a part of growing up.
"It was a fantastic decade," she adds about her first marriage. "I wish all of the people that have been involved in my life well, because it's very important to me to be in a place of forgiveness and love."
"I got married really fast and really young. But I don't regret that because it got me Bella and Connor (her children) and I did have a fantastic marriage for a long period," said the actress.
Kidman (45) has been happily married to country star Keith Urban since 2006. The couple, who both hail from Australia, have two daughters, Sunday and Faith.
"I'm amazed that I have been a mother for so much of my life now," she says. "It's odd, but because of them I don't feel 45."
Meanwhile, new court papers suggest that the relationship between 50-year-old Cruise and Katie, who found fame on Dawson's Creek, was doomed six months prior to the announcement that they were separating.
According to the documents obtained exclusively by the National Enquirer, their marriage had "broken down irretrievably for a period of at least six months immediately preceding".
Holmes, who had signed a prenuptial agreement months before their wedding, filed for divorce in June.
Just weeks later it was confirmed by Holmes' lawyer that the highly publicised divorce had been settled and that she would gain "sole custody" of their daughter.
In terms of child support, Cruise was said to have been ordered to pay $400,000 a year to cover Suri's "medical, dental, insurance, unreimbursed medical and dental, education, college, extracurricular and camp expenses".
The actor will be paying child support for the next 12 years until Suri turns 18, but no doubt it will not make a dent in his estimated $250m fortune.
Experts have calculated that the expense will cost Cruise $4.8m.
The War of the Worlds star isn't letting it get him down though, and has instead thrown himself into work.
Holmes now lives permanently in New York City and is often seen with Suri as she moves on with her new life.
