The Love/Hate boys are back in town

THE boys are back in town. The first day of filming on the fourth series of Love/Hate has taken place in Dublin.

And while Darren's infamous blue hoodie is no longer with us, it looks like King Nidge – aka Tom Vaughan Lawlor – is set to become the Best Dressed Gangster. The actor was spotted wearing an army green zip top while on set yesterday.

Nidge and his gang were reunited as filming for the hugely anticipated next instalment of RTE's crime drama got under way.

Aido (Mark Dunne), Elmo (Laurence Kinlan), Nidge and Fran the Man (Peter Coonan) were back in force at they stalked around a housing estate and left a red brick terrace carrying suspicious looking black sports bags.

However, there was no sign of Tommy – played by Killian Scott.

Tommy was viciously beaten to a pulp by an enraged Nidge in the last series – viewers last saw Tommy in a coma, uncertain if he was to ever recover from his head trauma.

The series is shaping up to be the most explosive yet with filming taking place in Walkinstown, Dublin 12. And there were several unknown actors on location – suggesting new faces will be joining the line up of RTE's gritty gangland drama.

Later on in the night, Nidge and Fran wore the same oversized padded camouflage jacket as they filmed some night scenes.

Plot lines for the series are being guarded under lock and key. All the actors have to sign waivers agreeing not to reveal storylines before filming commences.

Love/Hate cleaned up at this year's IFTAs, nabbing six awards including Best Actor for Tom Vaughan Lawlor and Best Actress for Charlie Murphy.

Viewers were devastated when green-eyed boy Darren (Robert Sheehan) was killed off in the season finale but writer Stuart Carolan says there will be plenty of eye candy for the ladies.

"We have lots of hotties coming in next season," he said.
