If you are Belfast-bound this August, make sure you snap up tickets for the Tennent's Vital gig, where international acts Kings of Leon and Snow Patrol are among the mouth-watering line-up.

Top singer songwriter Jason Miraz has just been added to the bill for day two of the festival at Belfast's Boucher Road Playing Fields. Miraz will be joined by Snow Patrol and new Irish sensation Kodaline on August 15, while Kings of Leon will headline the first day of the two-day gig on August 14. More acts will be revealed by MCD in the coming months, and tickets went on sale today.

 A day of family fun is guaranteed for all at the opening of the new Butler's Pantry on May 25 next. The Dublin food store is opening its newest shop in Castleknock village on Saturday week, and to celebrate guests are invited to sample the tasty, home-cooked treats on offer. From 11-4pm, guests will be able to see the chefs in action and enjoy some tastings of its newest produce, along with cookie making, shaping and decorating for the children.

Fans of classical music should check out the Workman's Club tomorrow, where international musician Rebekka Karijord will be performing. Following a sold-out gig in January, Rebekka is back at the popular Dublin haunt and tickets are €16 to see the piano and violin virtuoso.

Rebekka's second album, We Become Ourselves, was one of Mojo Magazine's Top Ten albums of 2012, and the Swedish-based composer released the second single from her album on May 7.

A cultural carnival of musical adventures, theatrical treats and hidden gems is guaranteed at this summer's Big House festival. Big House flings open the doors of Castletown House in Celbridge, Co Kildare, on the August bank holiday weekend.

One ticket gets you a full day of jam-packed entertainment with up to 50 events taking place throughout the day. Tickets start at €22.50 for adults.
