Sharon - I battled anxiety for 3 years

SHARON Corr has revealed how far she had to battle to overcome a crippling anxiety disorder.

The Irish singer said it took her three years to emerge from the experience and this was in part due to the identity crisis she faced after the band she formed with her three siblings, the Corrs, broke up in 2005.

"I had a couple of gigs where it completely took over. And it frightened the crap out of me. It was really debilitating," the 44-year-old explained.

To help her overcome her stage fright, the mum-of-two went to a voice coach in Dublin who focused on the psychological aspect of performing.

"I focused on building up self-confidence. You can be a great singer your whole life but the minute you lose power emotionally or go through a tough period in your life, it can put question marks on many other areas of your life that you would normally take for granted," she said.
