NICKY Byrne's mum Yvonne is delighted the former Westlife star is filling in for Ryan Tubridy on 2fm.
Nicky will be taking over Tubridy's golden headphones on May 29 as the broadcaster celebrates turning the big 4-0.
They're big shoes to fill, but Nicky already has one fan – his doting mum Yvonne. Bless.
"I listen to Tubridy in the mornings," she said, "so I'm thrilled and delighted about this. It's the 'Big One'.
"I think presenting is Nicky's main thing. He's a real people person; I think he's heading in that direction."
The Flying Without Wings singer is flavour of the month on the RTE lot – he beat off stiff competition to front song-writing talent show The Hit.
Nicky is expecting baby number three later this year, and grandmother Yvonne says she hopes it's a bouncing baby girl.
"Georgina and Nicky won't mind either way, but a girl would be nice for a change," she said.
