New mums Anna and Laura plan a ladies' night out

NEW mums Anna Daly and Laura Woods are planning a get-together to toast their new arrivals.

The two presenters – who are good pals off-screen – want to make the most of their maternity leave before getting back in front of the camera.

Anna will return to the helm of Ireland AM at TV3 in September after giving birth to baby Euan earlier this year. "Laura and I are great pals, she's great craic. Unfortunately we rarely get to work together because she usually covers me on Ireland AM," Anna told the Diary. "On the rare occasion where we are on together, we have good fun."

The glamorous presenters are looking forward to a post-baby night out, but photo albums of new baby snaps are definitely not allowed.

"I am really enjoying Euan, but I love to go out meeting my girlfriends and planning nights out. It's not all talking about babies; I say let's stop with the baby photos and stuff.

"It's just cocktails and gossiping," she said.

The 33-year-old who also has son James Scott with hubby Ben Ward says six months is enough time off, and she will be raring to go when she returns to the Ballymount station in the middle of September.

"Six months off is what I had on James and it was enough actually so hopefully I will feel the same way this time around," she explained. "We will definitely get a holiday in during the summer, although I'm not sure how much of a break it will be with the two boys," she laughed.
