THE BOYZ ARE BACK: First show since tragedy

Chart-toppers Boyzone are being tipped to be performing on RTE's Late Late Show shortly, making it their first appearance without Stephen Gately.

The Irish crooners, currently making a stab at chart success with Gave it All Away, will return to the programme that first set them on the road to stardom exactly a decade ago.

The Herald can reveal how RTE producers have approached the group and asked them to appear on the chat show fronted by Ryan Tubridy as they embark on a promotional tour of their new single.

They are expected to appear on the popular programme next Friday (March 12) but this time the group will be a foursome after the tragic death of their pal Stephen in Spain last October.

"It's going to be very emotional for them if they do go on the show as it will be their first appearance without Steo," said an insider.

An Internet campaign has been launched to help the lads score the fastest number one song download. The ditty featuring Stephen's vocals and written by Mika, Gave It All Away is now just 200 downloads away from their goal.
