Sickness forces Tom to axe gig

Sex Bomb singer Tom Jones was recovering in a Monaco hospital yesterday, saying "severe dehydration" forced him to cancel a concert in the glamorous principality.

The longtime star (71) apologised to his fans on his website and denied British press reports that he had suffered a heart scare that forced him to cancel Saturday's gig.

"There are NO heart problems, as has been reported in the press," the singer's website stated.

Parents split wedding bills

Parents of couples getting married are more likely to split the cost of weddings rather than leaving the father of the bride to foot the entire bill, research shows.

The most common arrangement is for parents of the bride and groom to share the cost of their children's big day, a study of 1,000 recently married couples by savings bank ING Direct, found.
