Rebecca denies Belle Amie split despite X Factor snub

IRISH X Factor star Rebecca Creighton has hit back at reports that Belle Amie are about to split after failing to make it on to the show's live tour.

Insiders have revealed that the future of the four-piece girlband hangs in the balance with only the final nine acts taking part in the sell-out concerts.

Yet Tallaght native Rebecca has insisted that the band is still going to continue their quest for fame - and have no intention of splitting up.

"There's no truth to that, I've no idea where that came from," she told the Herald. "Of course we were disappointed about not making it on to the tour but it just means we have to work that little bit harder now.

"We knew a few weeks ago that it was going to be the final nine so it didn't come as a huge shock or anything. But Simon [Cowell] has been in contact to say that he hopes to include us on some of the tour dates so at least that's something.

"We understand how it works. He couldn't just have us on the whole tour and not have Treyc [Cohen] on it, given that she went a week after us. It wouldn't be fair."

The girlband were thrilled to return to the X Factor studios for last Sunday's tense final, which saw Matt Cardle emerge victorious. And Rebecca has revealed how her idol Robbie Williams had some sage advice for the group.

"We met himself and Mark and they were saying how we were really good and told us to keep working really hard," she continued.

"The atmosphere was really good backstage and I got to see Christina Aguilera rehearsing her song before the show and we saw Rihanna as well.

"She's so beautiful in the flesh, it's unreal."
