Noel's new band picks Dublin to kick off world tour

NOEL Gallagher's High Flying Birds will kick off their world tour in Dublin this October.

Noel will take to the stage at the Olympia only days after the band's self-titled album hits the shelves.

The hotly awaited gig will see former Oasis star Noel take to the stage for his first ever live set with the High Flying Birds.

He's expected to perform a mix of solo songs and hit Oasis tracks on the night.

The Death Of You And Me, Noel's lead single from the forthcoming album, will hit stores on August 21 and is tipped to be a massive success.

The video premiered online last week, attracting some 1,000,000 plays over the first three days.

After opening in Dublin, High Flying Birds will see Noel embark on a widely anticipated tour, including sure-to-be sell-out shows at Edinburgh's Usher Hall and the HMV Hammersmith Apollo. It comes only months after brother Liam's group Beady Eye played in Dublin to huge success. Beady Eye comprises former members of Oasis -- except Noel.

Noel and Liam Gallagher's sibling rivalry has seen many feuds over the years, with the brothers going their separate ways in 2009. Beady Eye's efforts have been met with critical acclaim.

High Flying Birds will be released on October 17 through Noel's own label, Sour Mash.

Tickets for the gig go on sale at 9am this Friday, August 5 and can be bought from usual outlets, such as ticketmaster.ie, and through noelgallagher.com.
