FANS will be waiting a long time to hear any kind of a music album from Nicky Byrne, as he has "no plans" to follow his fellow Westlifer Kian Egan down the solo route.
Father-of-three Nicky is currently over in the UK with the Strictly Come Dancing tour and has been taking meetings with several production companies while temporarily based there.
However, a source close to the 33-year-old told the Herald that the Westlife band member does not intend on releasing an album in the near future.
It comes as The Voice of Ireland coach Kian Egan announced this week that he will put a record on the shelves on St Patrick's Day, after signing a record deal with Warner Music in the UK.
Shane Filan has already started working as a solo artist, branching out with a country sound, while Mark Feehily is also expected to return to the charts.
"There's no album and nothing signed with a record label for Nicky, he's concentrating on TV like he's always planned," the well-placed insider said.
"He has gone into a recording studio for a few hours since Westlife, but that was more for his own pleasure to be honest.
"Yes he's in talks about various projects and open to discussions about future prospects, but he's mostly just focusing on the Strictly tour and at the moment has nothing concrete in the pipeline.
"It's been hard work getting back into shape after Christmas and the arrival of baby Gia, but he's having a ball."
With presenting experience on RTE's The Hit and Football's Next Star since Westlife hung up their microphones, Nicky hopes to take on more work hosting in front of the camera.
