Kian gives fans sneak preview of video for his new solo single

KIAN Egan has officially stepped out on his own as a solo artist and there's not a white suit or bar stool in sight.

Shedding the boyband look that served him well for more than a decade, the Westlife singer is now channelling a rock and roll look as he embarks on a music career without Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne and Mark Feehily.

The father-of-one will see his debut album go on sale on March 14, but decided to share a preview of the video to his new single Home with his fans this week.

Sporting casual clothing and designer stubble, the video shows 33-year-old Egan completely at ease as he belts out the track while playing along with a group of musicians in a dark, moody warehouse.

Throughout the clip, photographs of his wife Jodi Albert and their son Koa, as well as scenes from his winning stint on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in January, play on the wall, with Egan watching on from a leather couch.

The well-known images of the popstar reuniting with his wife in the jungle is also part of the montage. Egan's ballad features lyrics such as "I'm going home, to the place where I belong".

The album will contain tracks personal to the Sligo native – including a duet entitled I'll Run To You with his other half, who was previously in the girl group Wonderland.

In addition, the singer has recorded some of his favourite songs, which he has put his own spin on. The Voice of Ireland coach signed a record deal with Warner Music UK two months ago to release his debut album.

The record has been produced by Brian Rawling, who has also worked with One Direction and Kylie Minogue in the past.

Egan is the second member of Westlife to step out on his own since the chart-topping band, managed by Louis Walsh, went their separate ways in 2012.
