HE said he wanted to focus on TV after Westlife ended, but popstar Kian Egan has now decided to return to singing.
The 33-year-old will release a solo album on St Patrick's Day after signing a record deal with Warner Music in the UK.
In between winning I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here and appearing as a coach on The Voice of Ireland, the father-of-one Kian has been in the studio.
His album will be produced by Brian Rawling, who has helped deliver hits for acts such as Kylie Minogue and One Direction.
And it will introduce Kian's fans to some of his favourite songs, which he will record with his own personal touch.
"Music is my first love, and to be able to get in the studio to record these amazing songs is a thrill and an honour," Kian said.
And after claiming his crown in the Australian jungle, he also insisted that he still loves being able to pick up his guitar and sing every day.
However, with all eyes on his fledgling TV career and reports of endless offers coming in to do more television work, the singer's announcement that he is to release a solo record may come as a surprise to fans.
