'I love me some Ireland', says Ed Sheeran as he gears up for tonight's Croker gig
Ed Sheeran is ready to rock Croker tonight in his home away from home.
The popstar was in rehearsals at the enormous venue last night and shared a behind-the-scenes snap with his fans.
"Can't wait for this weekend's shows at Croke Park stadium," he wrote.
"I love me some Ireland."
Wearing his trademark specs, the singer looked genuinely excited at the prospect of entertaining some 80,000 fans at the venue tonight.
With a giant multi-coloured background, the GAA headquarters looked ready to go for two of the year's most anticipated concerts.
Tickets sold out within minutes in February and this week promoter Peter Aiken said that a third show would have been possible if the rules at the Drumcondra stadium had allowed it.
The Thinking Out Loud singer has made no secret of his love for this country and even chose to film his VH1 Storytellers set in Whelans on Camden Street.

He has family here, including his talented cousin Laura Sheeran who is also a singer, and has spoken often of how much he enjoys his time here.
Instead of partying in the capital during his days off, the star was reportedly enjoying some family time during his stay.
Sheeran left Whelans early on Wednesday night after playing an extended set for lucky fans.
The award-winning singer was due to play for just 30 minutes for a crowd made up of Australian competition winners and select industry folk but ended up playing for more than an hour.
"He was straight out the door and into a car and gone," said a source.
"He was going to Wexford to chill out with his granny," they added.
The red-haired popstar was expected to make an appearance at a charity gig in The Academy last night but eager fans were left disappointed when he didn't show.
"He wanted to take it easy ahead of the gigs," a source told the Herald last night.
The gates at Croke Park open tonight at 5pm and organisers have warned that there is no queueing before then as people will be moved on by gardai.
