Fans were left disappointed yesterday when Hozier confirmed he would not be performing with Taylor Swift at her Irish gigs.

The pair became friends after meeting at this year's Grammy Awards, but Hozier rubbished reports he'd be joining her on stage.

"We've had a chance to hang out a couple of times, she's good fun," he said.

"I won't sadly be in the country for that. That should be a good show. I don't think I've ever seen her play live."

The Bray native is fresh from wowing the crowds at Glastonbury on Sunday afternoon.

He performed on the Pyramid Stage and sang a string of his hits, including Work Song, Someone New, as well as a cover of Arianna Grande's One Less Problem.

He will next be on Irish soil to perform at Longitude later this month.

The festival takes place at Marlay Park from July 17 to 19 and he said he can't wait for it.

"I'm looking forward to that, it's my first time headlining a festival in Ireland so I'm excited for it," he told Dermot and Dave on Today FM.

The 24-year-old has a huge following in the US now and said he always believed that he would make it.

"I guess you always just have to have faith that you'll find your audience and find your home," he said. "For me it didn't matter how long it took, not doing it was not an option."
