Crowley teams up with troubadour Mundy

TV3 presenter Elaine Crowley will be out to prove she's more than just a pretty face this week when she joins forces with Irish troubadour Mundy for a singing session.

The Midday anchor has agreed to loan her talents to an event being organised by Bord na Mona at the Stag's Head pub in the city centre this Thursday as it launches a new book to support Focus Ireland.

Entitled Short Stories For A Long Night, it features more than 140 different tales, with profits from the tome going towards the organisation.

The Boyzone star has been busy calling on all his contacts in the world of showbiz to help him organise a super night on December 1. The annual fundraiser for Irish Autism Action always draws in a host of well-known personalities and this year seems to be no exception.

Among those on the guest-list are Grainne Seoige, the newly-single Kathryn Thomas, Glenda Gilson, Matt Cooper and Keith Barry.

•HERALD columnist Rosanna Davison will be showing off her mental acumen tomorrow night as she engages in some healthy debate at this month's topical Banter event.

Taking place in the Twisted Pepper on Middle Abbey Street, the former Miss World will be getting to grips with the topic of the night, The Politics of Showbiz.

Entry is free on the evening but attendees must register in advance.

•THE red carpet will be rolled out at the Burlington Hotel Dublin this weekend as attendees turn on the glam for the Butterfly Ball.

Taking place this Saturday, the bash is being organised by the Midnight Shakers Society in a bid to raise cash for the charity which Colin Farrell patrons, namely Debra Ireland.

Now in its third year, last year saw over 700 guests in attendance, raising nearly €30,000 for worthy causes.
