Models aim to paint London green for fashion week

LONDON Fashion Week is one of the most prestigious events in the fashion calendar so it's no wonder that models are scrambling to be involved.

Irish catwalk queens are flying back and forth to the UK for castings over the coming days as the countdown begins for the Autumn/Winter festival in September.

Leading the way is raven-haired 19-year-old Louise Byrne, who is the current face of Lennon Courtney and will be putting herself forward for a place in the line-up of several top international brands.

The statuesque beauty, on the books of Morgan the Agency in Dublin and Elite Models in London, is one of Ireland's rising runway stars.

"She has been with us since April 2012 and has worked with Bobbi Brown, Arnotts, Brown Thomas, Parfois, Mint Velvet and Lifestyle Sports, she's just fantastic," a spokesperson for Morgan told the Herald.

Louth native Louise was also discovered by design duo Sonya Lennon and Brendan Courtney earlier this year and the TV presenters chose her to front their clothing campaign.

"These castings will be very important for her and hopefully someone will bite and see the potential we see in her," Brendan (inset) told the Herald.

"She has an unbelievable figure, is tiny but tall, with an exquisite face and a look you remember.

"You struggle if you're not tall, because you have to stand out and she definitely does."

Other Irish models set to try out for a coveted spot in a show at London Fashion Week include Naoise Tan and Caitlin Leckey, both tipped for super stardom in the global industry.
