Lisa and Richard take a trip back to the future with 80s themed engagement bash

Lisa Cannon really was a Wonder Woman at the weekend when she attended her 1980s-themed engagement party.

The Xpose presenter (35) revealed her fun side as she donned the form-fitting superhero costume.

Sticking to the theme, her fiancé Richard Keatley plumped for the character Lion-O from the cult 1980s cartoon ThunderCats.

He really made the effort with an aquamarine body suit, complete with blue boots, a bright orange wig and a sword with body contouring for extra effect.

After the Odeon bash, Lisa said: "I have never belly-laughed so much."

She described it as "the funniest night in a long time".

"We danced till 4am, we had the band Delorean and movie props from Terminator to R2D2. The costumes were brilliant. It was just incredible," she said.

"My dad gave a beautiful speech and sang Forever Young by Bob Dylan.

"His friend Declan said two poems and it was very heartfelt and beautiful to have everyone there in the moment. Plus we had all the hilarity of the 80s so it was such a special night."

Pulling out all the stops, the couple had an edible cake display featuring lots of things close to their hearts, including an Eiffel Tower cake to represent the spot where Richard proposed to Lisa last October.

They also had a giant Rubik's Cube, a Bosco cake, an MTV logo, an old £20 note and a mock-up of a Pacman board.

One attendee said: "They made such an effort to keep to the 80s theme. Nothing was left to chance and they put such thought into getting everything right."

Lisa invited lots of family and friends to join her and Richard as they marked their upcoming nuptials.

Among those spotted at the party were her Xpose pals Karen Koster and Aisling O'Loughlin alongside Celia Holman Lee and Cocoa Brown founder Marissa Carter. Other attendees included top model Sarah Morrissey as she helped the smitten couple celebrate their engagement.
