HOLLYWOOD star Billy Bob Thornton has revealed that being married to Angelina Jolie made him feel like Quasimodo.
The star has told of how he felt too ugly to be with A-list beauty Angie (36) during their three-year union and that their relationship suffered as a result.
The 56-year-old, who has featured in movie hits such as Love Actually and Armageddon, admitted: "I blew it. When you're in a relationship and it's two celebrities, I think that puts on a lot of pressure. They say, 'Well, she's the most beautiful woman in the world and he's an ugly mother f***er'. When you're reading all the nasty, negative comments people make, it's hurtful and it's hard to keep a relationship together.
"Angie, I felt, was definitely too good for me and at some point, if you believe somebody's too good for you, you're going to mess it up.
"I always thought I was sort of Quasimodo or the Phantom of the Opera hiding in the catacombs. And when I was with her I think that reached its heights," he added. In a US TV interview, Billy Bob also addressed rumours about the couple's gothic antics to prove their love to one another.
It was reported at the time that they both wore vials of each other's blood around their necks and had 'Till the end of time' written in blood above the bed in their €2m Beverly Hills pad.
"The truth is, Angie and I poked ourselves in the finger and rubbed it all over a glass locket. It was a drop of blood on a locket.
"From that we became Bela Lugosi, Nosferatu and the whole vampire mafia."
