I'd never try online dating... that would freak me out, says Roz

MODEL Roz Purcell has ruled out internet dating, saying the idea of it "freaks" her out. "I would never do internet dating, no," Ireland's most eligible woman told the Diary.

"Definitely not. That's not for me. I get freaked out by that. Completely freaked out. I would hardly look for a housemate on the internet, let alone a boyfriend. Because you never know who is online – seriously," she added.

That's a shame. A recent survey showed that more than a third of married couples in the US met through online dating – and they tend to be happier and more satisfied in relationships than those who meet through more conventional means.

Anyway, Roz (22) tells The Diary she's more interested in going to the gym, as opposed to being wooed.

"I'm not seeing anyone at the moment.

"I'm really focused on my training at the moment; I cycle and swim and I'm really enjoying that."

Recently, Roz has been linked to The Voice of Ireland coach Bressie, but both adamantly denied reports they were more than just friends.

"I don't have a boyfriend," she said. "To be honest, I think everyone would know if I did. It's just me and I'm happy with that."

But Roz says at times it can be difficult enjoying the single life when her friends keep trying to set her up on blind dates.

"A lot of my friends will always try and set me up and I just say, 'Leave me alone'. I just prefer doing my own thing – no computers, no blind dates."

It's set to be a busy summer for the chatty model with a string of race days and modelling shoots lined up.

"It's going to be really hectic, I was just looking at my calendar there and every weekend there seems to be something going on."

Later this summer, Roz will jet set off to Spain with her family. "We went over at Christmas and we're going to head back over this summer. It's not for another five weeks but I am absolutely living for it," she said.

"It's so nice heading over somewhere you know there will be guaranteed heat. I like when it's so hot you're sweating and you can barely breathe. I am a creature of the heat.

"When me and Daniella [Moyles] went to LA earlier this summer it wasn't that hot, so I can't wait to get some sun."

And Roz will enjoy catching up with her family while soaking up the rays.

"I actually really like going on holidays with my family because it reminds me of when I was younger."
