I didn't know what Xpose was, says new host Peter O'Riordan

He's the new presenter of Xpose, but Cork native Peter O'Riordan has admitted that he had never watched the show when he was offered the job.

Peter was working as the head of the assignment desk at celebrity news website TMZ in LA when the Head of Programming at TV3 offered him the job as co-anchor of Xpose.

"I got an email they told me, 'This is the plan. Xpose will be an hour long, it's going to be live, we need someone'.

"I didn't even know what Xpose was to be honest," Peter admitted.

"After hours of Youtubing it then I thought it would actually be cool. Then I agreed to it in August.

"They told me to be back in September so we packed everything up and came here."

Peter has also revealed that he's loving working with the Xpose girls at their Ballymount base.

"They're great to be honest. In all seriousness they have been absolutely unbelievable. Everyone in TV3 has welcomed me with open arms. it was daunting to come back.

"There's no one of my demographic doing what I do and I want to be the best here."

Peter, his partner Stephanie, and their six-month-old son Olivier moved to Dublin from LA within weeks of him landing the job but he says he doesn't miss California.

"To be honest, Los Angeles is great looking from the outside, but when you're in there, it's different," he told the Diary.

"Ireland is a great place for us to raise our family. LA isn't really conducive to raising a family.

"Also, working In LA just doesn't really work when you have young children."
