RTE host Stephen Byrne is hoping he has what it takes to follow in rising star Jack Reynor's footsteps.
The Two Tube presenter has been invited to Los Angeles for a meeting with top talent agency William Morris, which represents Hollywood stars including Matt Damon, Jim Carey and Justin Timberlake.
Morris also has Transformers star Raynor on its books, and Byrne said that the US-born Wicklow actor's growing stardom gives him confidence for his own future.
The casting agent who looked after Byrne when he was auditioning for a role in the new Star Wars film referred him to the A-list agency.
The 23-year-old Dubliner made it to the final round of auditions over a four-month period and was given parts of the script to read before learning he had been unsuccessful.
"They put me in touch with the William Morris agency in LA, so I'm going to have a meeting with them before June and hopefully go over for about four months in the summer to see what happens," he told the Herald.
"They have loads of stars on their books, but those people have already made it.
"Jack Reynor is someone who is making it over there now, which is the coolest thing for me."
Byrne said that he will spend the summer Stateside and wants to meet the agents in person in an effort to impress them.
"They said they wanted to communicate via Skype, but I just want to get in a room with them. If something happens it happens, and if it doesn't it doesn't."
