Robert Sheehan returns to theatre in Shakespeare revamp
Robert Sheehan is set to return to the stage in an exciting production inspired by Shakespeare's plays.
The former Love/Hate star has been cast in The War of the Roses at the Rose Theatre, Kingston Upon Thames in London.
The production is a trilogy of plays adapted from Shakespeare's quartet of history plays - Henry VI Parts I, II and III, and Richard III.
Tudors star Joely Richardson will play Queen Margaret, whose story runs through all three of the plays, alongside Sheehan and Norwegian actor Kåre Conradi as Richard III and Edward IV respectively.
Conflict
This will mark Sheehan's return to the London stage following his performance in 2011's The Playboy Of The Western World at The Old Vic.
The play, which will start in September, hasn't been staged since it premiered in 1963 with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
It charts the conflict between the Houses of York and Lancaster for the English throne and "tells a tale of feuding families, murderous kings and adulterous queens".
Meanwhile, Robert's most recent film The Road Within, which also stars Dev Patel and Zoe Kravitz, is going down a hit with audiences on the festival circuit.
The film follows Sheehan's character Vincent who suffers from Tourette Syndrome and is admitted to a psychological health clinic after his mother dies.
There he meets fellow patients Marie [Kravtiz] and Alex [Patel] and they subsequently escape and go on a road trip together.
The film received the audience award for best American independent feature at the Paris Champs Elysees festival earlier this month.
The 27-year-old, who is currently based in LA, said he liked playing an "outsider" in the film.
"He has this debilitating illness that made him separate from society, an outsider," Sheehan said.
"It's fun to play - and explore - being an outsider."
