Movie heart-throb Tom Cruise said he had been "very lucky" with his leading ladies -- adding his favourite was wife Katie Holmes.
The Top Gun star -- who has worked with some of Hollywood's most beautiful women including Cameron Diaz, Penelope Cruz and Renee Zellweger -- said backstage at the National Movie Awards: "My favourite leading lady is Kate, my wife. I've been very lucky with my leading ladies."
He also spoke of his undying passion for movie-making, saying: "I am still hungry. I never tire of it. I feel like a kid working on them. I dreamed of making movies and I never take it for granted."
Other stars at the glitzy event at the Royal Festival Hall included Iron Man 2 actress Gwyneth Paltrow and German starlet Diane Kruger, who arrived with boyfriend Joshua Jackson.
Paltrow wore a fuchsia top and skirt, complete with matching heels, when she walked up the red carpet at the Royal Festival Hall.
Kruger, who starred in recent Tarantino flick Inglourious Basterds, also wowed in a moss-green mini-dress. Comedian Chris Rock added Hollywood glamour.
"This is almost as big as the Oscars," the Lethal Weapon star joked on the carpet.
Host James Nesbitt, Dominic Cooper, James Corden, Martin Freeman, Simon Pegg and Noel Clarke were also among the celebrity contingent.
Backstage, the young stars of Harry Potter got emotional as they relived the past 10 years together.
"This award means so much to us because it's voted for by the fans," said Daniel Radcliffe.
The cast are currently filming scenes for the final instalment in the blockbuster franchise, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows.
"I'm devastated. It's going to be very sad -- but at the same time, it will be exciting. It's the end of a chapter," said Radcliffe. Emma Watson added: "It feels like someone's dying."
