Irish actor Jack Reynor's profile is on the rise and now he has a prestigious award to add to his CV.
The 23-year-old won the World Cinema Special Jury Prize for acting at the 31st Sundance Film Festival in Utah on Saturday night.
Reynor received the award for his role in Irish film Glassland, which tells the story of a young man from Tallaght struggling with his mother's alcohol addiction.
Jack plays a young taxi driver who, in an effort to save his mother - played by Toni Collette - from addiction, is forced to take a job which drives him further into the crime underworld.
"I'm absolutely thrilled to have been considered and to have won a prize at Sundance this year," Jack said of his win.
"It's definitely a reflection of the work of everybody who was part of the film and I'm incredibly proud to have worked with all of them."
The young Dubliner has received unanimous praise for his performance in the film which is directed by Gerard Barrett.
The Hollywood Reporter commented on his "exceptional work" and how "several close-ups of Reynor's face as he beams with love or is fraught with worry … confirm the actor's impressive talent for conveying emotions without using words".
Jack's breakout performance was in Lenny Abrahamson's What Richard Did, which debuted at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival and was screened at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival bringing Jack to the attention of Hollywood.
This led to parts in The Delivery Man with Vince Vaughan and later Transformers 4: Age of Extinction alongside Mark Wahlberg.
The Transformers star is currently filming The Secret Scripture in Ireland, with co-stars Rooney Mara, Aidan Turner and Theo James.
The film is being directed by Jim Sheridan and is based on Sebastian Barry's novel of the same name and is set to shoot in Dublin, Sligo and Wicklow over the coming weeks.
It's set to be a busy year for the young actor as not only is he filming The Secret Scriptures, but he also has three films due for release.
He has a part in John Careny's Sing Street alongside Aidan Gillen, he plays Malcolm in Macbeth alongside Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotilliard and he also stars in royal drama, Girls Night Out.
Jack also has a momentous year ahead in his personal life as he is expected to wed his girlfriend Madeline Mulqueen (24) in an intimate ceremony this summer.
The glamorous pair had been dating for just more than a year before getting engaged in Hong Kong last March.
