Hollywood star Jack Reynor says he won't be moving to Tinsel Town as he prefers to live in his native Dublin.

The Transformers 4 actor (inset) has starred opposite some of the world's biggest stars including Mark Wahlberg and Marion Cotillard, but has no interest in the LA lifestyle.

"I don't necessarily think I'd move to the US," he told the Herald. "I love Ireland and I feel it grounds me to be here.

"I also think it's important in a lot of ways to have that and it enables me to play the characters I play.

"It gives me perspective from different sides, so I'll stay in Ireland."

The 23-year-old came to prominence after his role in What Richard Did and has recently been shooting The Secret Scripture with Jim Sheridan.

The movie is based on Sebastian Barry's book of the same name and also stars Rooney Mara, Eric Bana, Vanessa Redgrave and Tom Vaughan Lawlor.

"We're very happy with The Secret Scripture and how it's been going," he said. "I finished my scenes last week. I play a character called Michael and he's interesting."

The young star, who is engaged to model Madeline Mulqueen, has also been doing some writing.

"I'm working on some stuff at the moment. I've been writing lately - potentially a screenplay," he said.
